It’s October!

That means it is officially our wedding month!  That’s insane!!  (It also means that I will probably be obsessively watching the weather for the next three weeks)

David and I were talking last night and both of us can’t believe we are only three weeks away.  It’s a crazy feeling to have something you’ve been planning for and anticipating for over a year to be so close and almost here.  The closer we get, the more excited I get, but I’m trying to savor these last few weeks of our engagement. Our engagement will have only been for a little over a year, which isn’t really that long at all in the grande scheme of things.

Everyone says the wedding day goes by so fast.  I know it goes by incredibly fast.  That’s one reason we prioritized photography and video – so we will be able to live our day again through those memories.  But even with the day being documented, I still want to make it a point to soak up every last detail and minute throughout the day that I can.

It’s surreal to think that one day we aren’t married.  Then the next day we have a wedding and BOOM.  We’re married.  Just like that.  Isn’t that mind-blowing?  That for something as sacred as the covenant of marriage all you technically need is a marriage license and an ordained minister and bam, you can be married.  Yes, we’re having a wedding.  And we’re so excited to have our family and friends there to celebrate with us.  I’m getting all dressed up in a dress and David in a tux.  But all it really takes is that marriage license and a few minutes and it’s done.  The rest of it is just a celebration of what happened.  It’s just crazy to me that something so life changing can be done so easily.  I’ve never bought a house, but I think buying a house is harder to do than getting married.  There’s more background checks, paperwork, signatures, etc.

Anywho….those are the random, boggled thoughts and feelings that are circling my head (and heart) this morning.
