Santa’s Wonderland

This week we made our second annual trip up to Santa’s Wonderland near Bryan, Texas.  I had heard about this place a lot in previous years and last year David got us some free tickets so we made the drive up.  I LOVED it.  I’m a huge Christmas nut, almost like a giddy 5-year-old child on Christmas eve, so things like this are right up my ally.  I loved it so much I made David go back again, but this year we took my mom along.  Like me, she loves pretty much anything to do with Christmas festivities and holiday cheer.

Inside Santa’s Wonderland is set up like an old western Santa Town with shops, places to eat, a petting zoo for the little ones, a place to see Santa and have your picture taken as well as a place to see one of Santa’s reindeer.  Only one though, because they have to rest up for the big flight in a couple weeks.  😉  There’s also a big outdoor movie screen where they show Christmas movies, a big fire pit to warm yourself up and live music.  In addition to the main fire pit, there are also some smaller ones in the back area where you can roast marshmallows and make s’mores.

My favorite part is the hay ride you get to take in trailers to see all the lights.  There are a TON of them and you get to listen to Christmas music through speakers on the trailers.  Admit it, Christmas music makes everything more fun!  🙂  I think my favorite part of this (besides the lights) is listening to the children on the hay ride and their reactions to the entire experience.  I told David that when we have kids and they are old enough, Santa’s Wonderland is mandatory.

Here’s a picture of us:

Some of the lights were the same as last year, but they did add some lights and new set ups that we didn’t see last year.  I only took a few pictures this year because I wanted to enjoy the experience instead of be in work mode, but if you are friends with me on Facebook, you can see my pictures from last year and a lot of the lights HERE.

  1. Cute sweater Kasey! I remember your pictures from last year and how neat the place looked. Glad you took your mom too. How did she enjoy it?
