MOAB, UTAH
We were so blessed to have some friends join us on the first part of our trip (the Moab part) this year! Last year while David and I were in Moab I posted something on instagram and my friend Katie and I started chatting. I always knew her husband did trails, but didn’t think much of it. Well, one thing led to another and from that conversation we loosely started planning to do a group trip the following year (2023). I’m so happy and proud to say we made it happen! David and I loved having some friends along with us for part of this trip and doing the jeep trails and seeing the sights with friends made it that much better!
I won’t be posting too many photos (if any) of our friends because I want to respect their privacy, but they were a huge part of our Moab trip and we are forever grateful they joined us.

Our first full day in Moab we started slow with the Fins and Things trail (David and I had done this trail the year prior), and as much as we enjoy that trial, it wasn’t until the next day when we did the 7 Mile Rim trail that I really felt like I found my place. I love being in the mountains, seeing the sights and parts of nature that not many others get to see. This trail wasn’t very crowded (in fact we didn’t see anyone else on this trail), and compared to fins and things, this was something I loved so much because we could take our time and really enjoy it. We were even treated to a view of Uranium Arch!

The trail is long though! I think we missed a turn out and instead of it being 7 miles it was more like 12 so by the time we were finished we were all hot, tired and hungry!
The following day, the boys went on another trail, while Katie and I went to Arches National Park to hike the Delicate Arch trail. I wanted to do this hike last year but rain out of time. I told myself I was going to make it happen this year even if I ended up doing it myself. I’m so glad Katie said she’d go with me. A 5:00am alarm to get to the trailhead for an early start was worth it. We were able to beat the heat and sun (for the most part). 3 miles (up and back) and 600ft elevation gain – totally worth it!

The next day the girls drove the toys while the boys rode shotgun! We drove the Gemini Bridges trail (beautiful), played on the top of a mountain and visited Canyonlands National Park! We spent five full days in Moab, and had the best time! We stayed at an AirBnB in a similar complex as last year, and every night we came home and cooked dinner and it was just such a blast. 10/10 recommend traveling with friends if you find people you jive with!
