We had the best time road tripping to Utah last week for a fishing trip with my Uncle! We left early Monday morning, and stopped by Lubbock on our way through West Texas just long enough for a few photos in front of campus and to wave as we drove through.

After Lubbock we continued driving until we stopped in Albuquerque, NM for the night. Tuesday we crossed from New Mexico to Arizona

where we then made our way to the Grand Canyon!

From there we made our way to Page, AZ where we decided to stop for the night. I plan to make our way back to this town again in the future. Horseshoe Bend is located here as well as Antelope Canyon. Both are places that I would love to explore one day.
Wednesday we were due to meet my Uncle at the lake for some afternoon fishing, so we woke early and left our hotel around 8am after we had breakfast, but not without me insisting that we stop at some lookout points for some scenic photos of the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell.

From there, we crossed into Utah and made our way to Lake Panguitch.

But not without enjoying some views along the way

Fishing-wise we had a rough couple of days. We were able to fish Wednesday after we arrived but only two fish were caught…none of them were by me, although I did get one who managed to get away from me while I was reeling him in. Thursday, boy was it windy. We went out Thursday morning and none of us had any luck. The wind was terrible, so by noon we called it and made our way back to camp where we had lunch. That afternoon my Uncle told me to grab my camera and he took me and David to a few sights not too far from our fishing lake that we hadn’t yet seen. Cedar Breaks National Monument was a short 20 minute ride from where we were and we spent the afternoon driving the surrounding areas and taking photos of the beautiful sights!

We even saw a deer along the way who was nice enough to pose for me.

Friday morning we hit the lake again with much better luck. The winds were almost nonexistent and the fish decided to bite today! I wasn’t brave enough to take my real camera onto the lake, so these are all cell phone pictures:

I tried uploading a few videos here, but apparently my site doesn’t support video at the moment. Oh well. Needless to say, I was thoroughly grossed out about photo number two. Hahaha!
