Saturday, November 8th
Saturday we took an easy. David and I woke up and got an early breakfast, and although the plan was to do some more snorkeling (for David) and relaxing by the pool (for Kasey), on our way back from breakfast we ran into a place in town that has several local shops that you can walk through and look at different art made by the people of Hawaii, regular souvenir shops to pick up things for friends and family, etc. I have always been a fan of going through local shops like this and seeing what kind of treasures I can find.
On this particular day, be it was a Saturday, in addition to the shops for retail therapy, they had local artists set up that allowed you to go around and look at their work as well as buy some art pieces if you wanted. We ran across a photographer who does some amazing work in Hawaii with landscapes and underwater photography. His underwater work was amazing. If I was rich, I probably would have bought three or four of his pieces right there on the spot. But I’m not, and we didn’t. I did however come home with one piece of his art that I want to frame and hang in one of our bathrooms.
After we were done picking up things for ourselves and some family, David was hungry. We just so happened to walk by a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Resturant. (You might think back to the Forrest Gymp Days). I’m not a huge fan of seafood, but I knew David was dying to try some, so we stopped and had lunch here. It was a neat little Restaurant on the water with some character and homage given back to the Forrest Gump movie.

Later that night, we went to dinner at Outback Steak House. It wad delicious. On the drive back, we decided to take the top off the jeep and enjoy the lovely weather. About halfway through out drive I looked up into the sky and saw a bazillion stars. It was the most amazing sight…a perfect end to a lovely evening.
