We Took Our Engagement Pictures!

Yesterday, I experienced what it felt like to be on the other side of the camera as we got our engagement pictures taken.  I’m not very comfortable being in front of the camera alone, but when I’m with someone (David) in front of the camera I feel much better.  The days leading up to our engagement session I started to get really excited about it!  I knew KATIE would do an awesome job, and that David and I would look amazing in our photos.  🙂   I was really excited to have a full photo session to get some professional photos of us together.

I was actually stressing a bit in the weeks leading up to our session because Texas (Houston especially) has been having some very bizarre un-Houston-like weather these days.  Lots and lots of rain and lots and lots of overcast days.  We wanted sun.  We needed sun for our engagement photos (it makes a huge difference for lighting), and I knew if it was rainy or even overcast we would need to reschedule.  My schedule is very flexible, but David had to take off work for the whole day and I really didn’t want to have to reschedule everything if the weather didn’t cooperate with us (I definitely would have if we needed, but I didn’t want to).  That being said, I stalked The Weather Channel app on my phone daily for the week and a half leading up to our session.  The weather forecast is ever changing and never the same as it was predicted when you previously looked, but Monday’s forecast for Tuesday was AM Clouds/PM Sun so we decided to go for it.  I may have stressed a little bit during the day about if the clouds would clear away (I don’t usually stress easily, but I wanted these pictures to be awesome), and lucky for us they finally cleared out around the time I was getting my hair and makeup done.

Yup, that’s right.  I practiced what I preach to my clients and got my hair and makeup professionally done.  I always tell my clients to get their hair and makeup done for their pictures.  I know how big of a difference hair and makeup can make since I see it all the time with my clients, but it’s so different when you’re the one getting your hair and makeup done!  I hate writing this because it sounds so vain, but I had no idea I could look like that!  The girls at SUNKISSED AND MADE UP did an AMAZING job with my hair and makeup and I’m so happy with the end result (David was too).  And now it has me wanting to learn how to do hair and makeup so I can look like that everyday!  🙂

Once I get the photos back, I’ll be sure to share a few here!  I cannot wait to see how they turned out myself!
