Over the weekend David and I went camping. It was our third camping trip since we’ve been together. If David had his way we would go camping every two months or so, but I will only go when it’s not blazing hot or crazy humid which limits us to about five months out of the year.
Our first two camping adventures we went to Lake Livingston State Park and Brazos Bend State Park. This time we went to Huntsville State Park. The park was beautiful, with lots of trees, trails, a lake, canoeing, etc., but in all honesty we probably should have picked a different weekend to go because 1. there was a huge race Saturday morning with a ton of runners/joggers/people way more athletic than either David or I around and 2. The high chance of rain made us cut our weekend short by a day.
Even with those not so great things, we still had a good time. My two favorite parts of every camping trip are always the first day we get there when we go exploring and I take my camera. I just love taking photographs for me and getting a break from the “work” side of photography. And the second is in the evening when we have our camp fire. We roast marshmallows and make s’mores (definitely NOT on my wedding diet, but a must for all camping trips) and spend time talking and hanging out just the two of us.
Here are a few photos I took during our time there this weekend:
